COMMUNITY UPDATES: Winter was been busy for our office. Dr. Rye and staff members have participated in many community activities: Give Kids a Smile is a special annual event intended to provide care to young children without access to dental care. We had our annual winter fun by visiting local schools and presenting programs on dental health for young children. Dr. Rye continues to provide dental care at the Spanish Catholic Center in Washington in addition to teaching hygienists studying at Northern Virginia Community College.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION FOR YOU:
Heart Healthy
----Ask us about the correlation between your heart health and a healthy mouth. How can gum disease affect your cardiovascular health? Research shows that your risk of developing cardiovascular disease varies according to the severity of gum infections. There are many treatments available, in addition to good old fashioned proper brushing and flossing to control and help reverse gum disease.(From AGD “Know your Teeth”)

Dr. Rye is an authorized provider of Under Armour Performance Mouthwear™, and has begun fitting athletes with Under Armour’s innovative new line of custom mouthpieces and mouthguards designed to improve athletic performance. Powered by ArmourBite™, patented mouthwear technology developed by Bite Tech, Inc., Under Armour Performance Mouthwear™ relieves pressure on the temporomandibular joint (TMJ) and some studies show prevention of the excessive performance-sapping hormones.
